Milky Way Murals
In early 2022, Abby Bjorholm and I founded Milky Way Murals- a company that specializes in creating murals for both residential and commercial properties. In combination of our skills, Abby took on the business-minded role of the company by handling day-to-day operations and client communication, while I performed all of the creative aspects of our projects. From conceptualization to final execution, all of the murals below were designed and painted by me.
Mr. Bones
In the spirit of Halloween, this wine-wielding skeleton was painted for Milky Way Mural's launch party at a residential property in Mar Vista, CA.
Angler Fish
This haunting painting tops the charts of my favorite murals of 2022. Commissioned by a woodworker to animate his storage garage, this angler fish now scans the streets of Los Angeles, CA with a disembodied eye.
Daydream
The opportunity to paint this colorful mural was brought to me by a four year old boy: while drawing in a local coffee shop, a little boy took notice and asked if I'd draw him a boat. This led to a discussion with the boy's mom where I learned she was an interior designer for Daydream, a new cannabis delivery company, and was in the market for a mural to bring their new showroom to life. Casa Azul
I painted these murals for an AirBNB called "Casa Azul" in Joshua Tree, CA. By blending the home's blue color palette with the desert landscape that its nested in, I composed the design to the right, as well as its abstract counterpart found in the bottom left photo.
Facescapes
This client wanted something a bit funky, but not too loud, for the wall behind their credenza. The result was this mosaic of abstracted faces that draws attention toward the space without completely conquering it.
MWM
In celebration of the formation of our LLC Milky Way Murals, I painted our studio entrance. I decided to design something minimalist yet still representative of our brand.
Wildcatter LA
Wildcatter LA, a production studio in the Arts District of LA, wanted a couple of murals that would reinforce their brand and liven up the white walls of their space. After completing an OSHA MEWP certification to operate the lift, I spent a month painting 7 of their walls to tie the studio together.
Welcome to Joshua Tree
After an AirBNB reached out wanting a "Welcome to Joshua Tree" mural that would revitalize their listing and act as a photo backdrop for visitors, I got to work designing. Today, this mural lives in the background of many tourists' photos.
Ocean Nursery
This underwater scene was my first mural done for a nursery (and only mural to feature snorkeling dogs). With their home just blocks from the beach in Santa Monica, CA, the clients felt it was only right to instill a love for the ocean in their baby through this mural's googly-eyed sea creatures and pastel hues.
Wrapped Studios Murals
Over the course of my 3 years working as a muralist at Wrapped Studios, I’ve helped bring color and creativity to blank walls across the country. From sunny days spent shaking spray paint cans on the Venice boardwalk, to 5 am mornings spent scaling ladders in Seattle, I've tackled projects with a disparate range of setting and scope.
Core Digital Media
Placed right at the entrance of Core Digital Media's Playa Vista office, this Los Angeles themed mural serves as an immediate focal centerpiece. This project was brought to Wrapped Studios by JK & Co, an architectural firm and interior design studio.
Seattle Shapes
This mural, with its many sets of lines all extending and overlapping in discordant directions, greets visitors of the University District in Seattle.
The Catherine
With its pop art aesthetic, this mural transformed this Santa Monica apartment complex's parking garage into a welcoming facility. Now, residents of The Catherine are greeted home with clashes of bold pigments instead of damp gray walls.
Parkside
Standing as my first out-of-state project with Wrapped Studios, these murals in Aurora, CO were commissioned by Milender White to liven up the walls of Parkside @ City Center's newly redesigned residential community.
1641 Lincoln
When a property management group approached Wrapped seeking custom residential art, these ocean-inspired murals were the result. These paintings are placed adjacently along three stories, adding cohesion to the apartment building's interior.
Arcs
Commissioned by internationally renowned abstract painter Charles Arnoldi, this striking geometric mural was inspired by a piece of his very own. Since it's nested right in the center of the Venice Boardwalk, this mural engages beachgoers daily.
Confluence
For this project, I assisted the Wrapped team in painting two minimalistic, yet dynamic murals displayed poolside at this resort-style residential complex named Confluence at Valencia.
